We were looking for a band for a 90th birthday party we were hosting. That is, a joint 90th, between me and my wife.
So we wanted a band that could play some classy music and also keep the momentum up to deliver an enduring event. I contacted Steve by phone one evening while driving home. We discussed the type of event and type of music we like. And from that moment on, it was all seamless and set. We provided a list of favourite tunes. Surprisingly, I introduced Steve to some new music as well!
The booking process was a cinch. Come the night of our event, Steve arrived and setup all the gear, including and array of lighting to set the mood and he sported a new smoke making machine with an assortment of functions.
The music was nothing short of sensational! We hosted a big event, and despite people all having different tastes in music, everyone was on a unity ticket on this one. Literally dozens of people commented the following day how amazing the band was.
To make the night extra special, there was an unexpected guest appearance. We have some friends who are musicians, who after politely asking us if they could play a few songs, approached the band in the most professional manner to see if they could sing us a few songs. Steve setup their gear and completely unscripted, and without knowing their music or style, within a few chords, Steve started strumming along on his Double Bass. Then the drummer joined and then the pianist. Our friends had an instantaneous band with musicians they had never met or played with; and there were no charts. The following day they commented to us how talented each musician was and what an ensemble they were!
It is little wonder that our party was such a great success. Good-on-yah Steve and all the musicians! Thanks for making the night extra special.

What a wonderful evening we had last Friday being entertained by the Steve Morrison Band. Many people commented on the excellent music and what an appropriate choice your band was for the occasion. The dinner music selection was most enjoyable, and the dance music afterwards was a lot of fun, and a great way for a group of teachers and ex-students to let their hair down and finish off the week.

If you are looking to turn a special event into a real celebration, we recommend Steve Morrison and his band.
In May 2015 we were enticed into a wine bar in Milsons Point by the music and that’s where we first heard Steve and his band. We were so impressed we recommended his band to our daughter and her fiancé. We booked Steve and his band for the wedding which was held at the Hydro Majestic on 5 December 2015. Steve was happy to travel to the Blue Mountains to perform.
Jeff Duff headed the band on the night and it was fantastic. A great mix of music had everyone dancing. A beautiful wedding celebration turned into a wonderful party – as the dance floor turned into a mosh pit. Jeff really engaged everyone – wandering around on the dancefloor (in his distinguished plaid suit) singing duets with many of the guests. Inhibitions were lost as some of the bride’s aunts shared their vocal skills!!

The music that the Steve and the Band played at our wedding was truly perfect – really good volume during dinner, really classy (compared to so many other weddings I have been to where they had a DJ or a ‘party’ band), and excellent song choice.
The combination of Steve and the band and Jeff Duff singing works so well – the way they played had so much more style and originality than I could have hoped to have at my own wedding. Overall it was such a special day for us, and the music just added to that

My husband, Robert, and I were married in the Autumn of 2014; we celebrated our marriage with a ceremony at the Everglades Gardens in Leura, followed by a reception at the Grand Old Lady of the Mountains, the Carrington Hotel. The theme of our wedding was inspired by the Art Deco period. It was imperative that the band we selected delivered a Gatsby-esque style party and tempo.
The Steve Morrison Band did not fail to deliver. All band members dressed up in Art Deco theme and our wedding guests still remark that it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended, with the 5 piece band being the highlight of the evening. We even had our very own “Wedding Crashers” who had heard the band was in town and couldn’t resist a dance.

Thank you for playing for my Fathers’s 80th birthday January 7th 2012 in Terrigal. They were fantastic and made our evening unforgettable. The guests are still talking to us about it even weeks later. We were especially impressed with their versatility and willingness to make sure they connected with almost everyone at the party. The classic and latin jazz numbers they played throughout dinner really appealed to all ages and they quickly seemed to be able to read what the crowd wanted to hear. You all have great chemistry and play beautifully. As the night moved along, they worked very hard to get people up to dance and before long we had excellent dance numbers for young and old. We even had a conga line around the pool at one point.
Jeff Duff was fabulous with his great voice and tremendous experience. Despite only brief input from us, he was able to read the crowd and vary the content brilliantly. Although prior to the night we were not quite sure if Jeff would work for us, there was no doubt that he made the night. He and all the crew were absolute professionals and really wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. Jeff even had a number of teenage girls wanting to have his picture taken with him afterwards so he is doing well! All the players are highly skilled professionals, keen to please and are really good people to have around. I have no hesitation in recommending the band for almost any occasion. Thank you so much for making our night so wonderful. Truly magic.

I’m writing to sincerely thank you for the beautiful music you created for our wedding day. So many people commented about the level of skill that you and the band demonstrated, and the wonderful vibe you helped create through your music – it really contributed to the atmosphere of love and romance of the day.
